quicker your pc

I believe you have been lighten up a little bit about how to speed up your computer, actually there are still more you can do to get the most out of your machine, here is another trick – disable Indexing.

Indexing is a feature of Windows, the purpose of developing and adding this feature to the Windows system is to make the Windows search more easier and quicker. Basically, all the files and folders will be indexed once they appear in your hard drive, so when you need to search a target, the computer will present the result to you more quicker under the condition that everything has been indexed. That sounds good, isn’t it?

However, the down side of this indexing feature is, it won’t stop indexing even you are using the computer, which will lead to additional performance lose, as it will occupy part of the CPU usage, and it makes the hard drive spinning all the time. So the point is, if Windows search is not the thing that you use a lot, you can disable the indexing feature to gain more performance. And here is how:

For Windows 7

Open My computer.
Right click on the hard drive and select properties.
In the General tab, uncheck the option of ‘Allow files on this drive to have contents indexed in addition to file properties’
