Three Ways to Optimize Your Windows

optimize-your-PC

No matter how efficient or sensitive your PC might be in the first place, it will finally get slower over time. That state-of-the-art computer you brought home few months ago might not feel like such a screamer after you put dozens of programs onto the disk, load it with either antispyware or antivirus software, and download untold a bunch of useless files from the Internet. The slowdown may take place so gradually that you barely find it, until one day you’re trying to run a program or file and start complaining, “How can it be so slow?”

That’s alright, you can try three things below to improve the situation.

1. Delete things you never use

Although your computer is older, it may have manufacturer-installed programs that you never noticed or have forgotten about. It is never too late to delete them to have the neatness and wasted system resource back. You might think that you’re going to use the software someday, but you never did. So you can choose to uninstall it and see if your PC works better.

2. Disable some programs from running at start-up

Many programs are set to automatically run when Windows is loaded. Software manufacturers always design their products to run in the background, where you might not noticed they’re running, so they will open right after you click the icons. That’s indeed helpful for programs you use quite often, but for those you rarely or never use, this wastes precious memory and definitely reduce the efficiency that Windows finishes starting up.

3. Defragment your hard disk

Fragmentation could make your hard drive perform extra action that slows down your computer. Disk Defragmenter will rearrange fragmented data so your hard drive can work more efficiently. The Defragmenter works on a schedule, and you can also choose to manually defragment your hard disk.
