Routine maintenance of Desktop PC

Many users will encounter problems of PC sudden strike, such as image flickering, sound missing, keys not working, PC slow running, or even sudden blue/black screen, such problems bring us brought lots of troubles during work and life. We can avoid a lot of unnecessary trouble if we can pay attention to the PC daily maintenance.

Hardware maintenance:
1. Normal startup and showdown.
When start up your PC, first open the peripherals connected equipments of the computer, such as printers, scanners, monitors, etc., and then open the host.
When shut down, close all the applications, and then use the Windows shutdown procedure to turn off your PC. Do not force to shutdown, nor force to cut off the power. When the host is working properly, due to hardware is processing read and write operations, if the power is suddenly off, it’s likely to damage the hardware, especially the hard disk.

2. When you don’t use PC for a long time, you have to open your PC regularly.
If you don’t want to use your computer for a long time, you’d better open your computer every month for more than half an hour to disperse the moisture inside the chassis. Or wrap up the PC with a few packs of desiccant to prevent internal moisture.

Software maintenance:
1. Slimming your system routinely.
After using your computer for a long time, large number of temporary files generated in the system folder because of using the internet or installing/ uninstalling, if you don’t clean computer timely, it may increase the memory and hard disk consumption. Temporary files are also often become the target of hacker. So it is necessary to regularly clean up junk files, delete software you don’t commonly use.

2. Timely renew the update patches, maintaining software and driver updates.
Operating system vulnerabilities are constantly exposed and invaded by hackers, so Windows will occasionally release system patches to fix these vulnerabilities. If your computer does not install these patches in a timely manner, you’re likely to become a target for hackers. Try to choose digital drives certified by Microsoft and install the official software.
