The recall is a significant setback for GoPro Inc. as its first consumer drone represents a major attempts to diversify the company’s product lines. It is also expected to compete with the drones of DJI, the leading company in the civilian-drone industry. GoPro has experienced a tough time this year with layoffs and declining sales of its core action-camera business. Karma drone was brought to market and sold for $799, with the hope of lifting the company’s overall sales. As the recall was announced, GoPro’s stock price was trading down about 8 % in the after-hours trading.
